I bought ASUS vg27wq monitor today and plugged it in just to notice that it is only displaying at 120hz (165hz monitor). I tried to change all kinds of settings from both Nvidia and windows control panel without any succes. I use displayport and STOCK cable that came with the monitor. Could it be that the stock cable is just bad and not able to provide the 165hz refresh rate. My graphics card is 1070Ti if that is even useful info.

Also the monitor has a fun quality: when I tried to change the display settings the monitor went black screen and displayed a message "No display cable detected". Only way I could solve this problem was to unplug the power cord from the monitor and plug it back in... I'm getting so frustrated from all of this and beginning to regret ever buying this monitor.
Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

EDIT: I bought an actual 1.4 displayport cable and now monitor works just fine... Why bother giving the consumer Dp cable that doesn't even work?
