Question ASUS Vivobook Max KB to MB ribbon cable fix

Upgraded the base HDD with an SSD in my sister's ASUS Vivobook Max X541N but i broke the keyboard ribbon cable in half in the reassembling. Do i have to get a replacement keyboard/motherboard or by removing the metal cover i can disconnect the other half of the cable too and just get a replacement cable? Does it have to be the specific part or any ribbon cable with the specific width and pins will do?

The cable is tethered to the keyboard, it's impossible to replace it. You're going to have to replace the keyboard itself.

That's a fair place to link considering I didn't post my country anyway.
That is a long shipping period, luckily I found it locally, the price though...urgh.
This upgrade just became more costly!
This is why I stick to desktops, flimsy rubbish notebook craftsmanship not really made for disassembly. I learnt from this at least I suppose.

I don't like laptops because of how they become obsolete and how you're forced into a corner with regards to power. No offence but your mishap is what caused the issue to begin with. You need to be gentle with ribbon cables in general, not to mention everything in terms of tech.

Took no offense but there is also no reason to indirectly call me an idiot. My "mishap" happened because I can separate the back and front plastic panel after i popped them apart for like a finger width, both to detach and to reattach a hair strand thin cable that is exactly as long as it needs to be to hold the top and bottom together and not an inch longer and that is just shoddy design. I built my entire gaming tower part by part alone with no issue. Again I appreciate your feedback but this was uncalled for.
My sister has a laptop because she uses it mostly for video streams, she has no room for a tower and cannot afford to get even a basic pc then buy a display, speakers etc. separately too, obsolation is irrelevant for her case. Just a basic upgrade to make file managing more responsive and make the browser not hang up all the time.
