[SOLVED] Asus VivoBook S 16X under performing

I just purchased this laptop Amazon link to laptop, for mobile internet consumption and writing. I've got it all set up, it's the out of the box experience of windows home. I install steam, install my favorite game Skyrim AE. And with it being so old I kind of expected even Iris Xe graphics to be able to pull 60 FPS no problem. How ever to my disappointment it only pulls at most 35 fps unless I'm looking down or in the menus. I updated the intel graphics drivers to the latest drivers, still 30ish fps. Did I get a dud laptop (unlikely) or did I just have my hopes up too much, or is there a setting or tweak I can do to unlock the power.

I was just about to do that friend. got an eye on one at microcenter
