So recently my old work oc has failed and now doesn't boot anymore (black screen, doesn't beep).
I brought up my Asus Notebook Pc Laptop to use at my work, but I can't stand the laptop screen for long periods and actual work.
Trying to get it to work with my trusty 24" DEL monitor but it won't work.
I bought a DVI-I FEMALE TO HDMI MALE Adapter - plugged the HDMI male side to the HDMI port on my Asus notebook and the DEL DVI-D monitor to the female DVI-I port.
This is what I bought - only I accidentally got a DVI-I (not D):

Nothing happens. Laptop doesn't seem ro regonize the monitor.
Why?
No signal on the Monitor side. Screen black. LAPTOP doesn't detect anything, tried Project to 2nd screen/Extend/duplicate.
The monitor is DEL 24" 2047 WFP 1920 x 1200
Should I try a different adapter?
Or maybe I need a DVID female to HDMI male CABLE?
What kind of set up do I need in order for it to work?
It's gotta work-it's very simple and common.
Could it be a resolution change?
(I don't have the adapter anymore because I returned it but I can get it again or whatever adapter /cable that will solve this ).
