Hi,

I've just recieved 2 ASUS VN247H display's and i'm trying to set them up. I'm using one with a HDMI to HDMI cable (HDMI from monitor to GFX) and it's working perfectly. However, when I try to setup the second one with HDMI to HDMI (HDMI from monitor to MOBO) it isn't working. Also, when I try to use VGA to VGA (VGA from monitor to GFX), the monitor refuses to use anything over 1600x900 (1080p isn't even on the list...).

CPU - AMD FX 6300
GFX - AMD R7 240.

Thanks to anyone that can help,
- Harry

The reason for this is that your onboard cpu graphics are not active, so you need to use gpu graphics. The VGA has a bandwidth deficiency which causes it to not support higher resolutions, possibly a dodgy connector on the graphics card or motherboard. VGA only just supports 1080p, so you might need an adapter to hdmi from another output on your gpu.

VGA supports up to 2048x1536 resolutions.

But yes he needs to use the DVI port on his GPU instead of the VGA and the GPU is probably limiting its VGA to 1600x900.
