Asus VN248H Proper Setup and Issues

Hi everyone, Im at my wits end to what might be a simple fix. Basically I just got my new Asus monitor (VN248H) in today and connected it up to my computer. I cannot for the life of my get it to stretch edge to edge, I looked through all the menu settings and it simply doesn't, it's extremely aggravating.

Also, the text doesn't seem as sharp as I think it should, my older AOC which is also 1080p seems sharper. Im wondering if it's something stupid Im missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What was your old AOC monitor?
What ports are you using to output the display?

I found the solution, the AMD Catalyst Drivers needed to be reinstalled and the overscan set to 0. Without finding it on the internet I would have never figured it out, no way a monitor should be this diffcult to install in 2014. On a side note, any tips on calibrating this, seems really bright, how can I make sure it's properly configured?

Hardware configuration is the best option but it is not cheap either. You can do it manual if you want.
