asus vs zotac

I would go with the ASUS, unless there is a big price difference that favors the Zotac. ASUS prides on being able to offer in-house engineered GPUs, usually with beefed up VRMs and heatsinks compared to the reference. ASUS is also a top-tier GPU/MOBO maker.

Having said all that, ASUS support sucks. I and MANY others have nothing but complaints for their lackadaisical support. Just so you know if you are going to pick ASUS. I think the sentiment with ASUS is "it will most of the time work, but when it doesn't, you are out of luck with support".

Beyond that, check local prices.
 


The Zotac is a reference design, the ASUS is their own, including the heatsink/fan assembly. The ASUS is bound to be quieter than the Zotac. The 1st iteration of the DCII cooler on the ASUS 680 was 9dBs quieter under load:

I would imagine the V2 version of the DCII applied on the 680 should be similar.
