ASUS VS248HR Gaming Monitor display turning off

So I've recently purchased a ASUS VS248HR 24 inch Gaming Monitor from amazon. It has been fine for maybe five months, but recently the display has started randomly going black then coming back on (like it would if you were changing the source from dvi to hdmi or something). It goes black for maybe two seconds, then comes back on with the hdmi source in the corner which disappears after a cuople of seconds as per. This turning off is happening randomly with no particular pattern, sometimes it is okay for a few hours and others it happens a few times in ten minutes.

I'm assuming this will be maybe an internal connection issue and I should go back to asus with my warranty to replace the item but i thought I'd check here first.

I'm not sure of the answer, but I would (after maybe getting some answers) just try a new hdmi. Could it be computer? The monitor I have too, and it's great. I doubt though that it's the monitor unless you have shaken it or something could have happened.
