Hey guys, recently I bought the ASUS VX24AH. Not too many problems so far except for the fact that when I'm gaming I notice a crazy contrast change going to 1080p in-game for some games. The colors in general just seem very dark and not really too much detail is shown. I have RGB on Full at the moment and I am using HDMI. This only really happens when I switch to 1080p full screen for games. I was wondering if anyone knew a fix for this or if it's a monitor issue or maybe GPU? Currently running a GTX 660 but I do plan on upgrading soon. I'll show a screen shot comparison here.

Here's at 1080p in-game

And 1440p now

Notice how there's more detail shown in the bottom one than the top one. I notice when I took IN-GAME screenshots it showed no issues but from a monitor stand point the evidence is clear. Any solutions?

Solution
When you start most current AAA games there is a slider to tweak the brightness untill a certain black logo is barely visible. But as I now, this can be done later as well.
Do a proper color calibration on your monitor and use a custom icc profile in windows. You may be lucky to find settings and an icc profile if you search carefully. I did the same for my Asus VG245H. Just to note: I use Racing Mode, Blue Light Level Filter Level 0, Brightness 34, Contrast 73, Color Temp User Mode, Smart View Off, Trace Free 80, Vivid pixel 0 or 25. Color Temp: R: 100, G: 91, B: 92. But your monitor is bound to require different settings.

You may also need to adjust the color, gamma settings in-game after the calibration.

Thanks for the reply and I appreciate the info on the color calibration part. However this did not fix the issue unfortunately. I have done a lot of calibrating with my monitor and tinkering since I've gotten it so it shouldn't be a problem at this point. More or less the problem still resides, I'm wondering if this could just be the game acting that way or if running it natively at 1440p is just the better option but tuning down some settings. It seems like when I plug in my PS4 and play on the monitor the colors aren't as dark even though it is running at 1080p. Could it just be due to running the desktop at 1440p and then playing the game at 1080p?

This has nothing to do with resolution. I use VSR to 144op almost always. It is related to the specific game. Tune the gamma and brightness settings in-game.

There's no settings in-game to tweak out the Gamma/Brightness :/ .
