Hey guys. I have another problem. I went to NVidia CP and overclocked my monitor from 60hz to 75hz. It worked. But when I go to Display settings-Display adapter settings-Monitor and change the refresh rate from 59hz to 75 it changes resolution to 640 and it looks very poor. The only way to fix it is when I change back to 59 with 1440 resolution.

Seems like there is a clash between NVIDIA and Windows settings for monitor.

Can anybody help? Thanks

No mate. I have overclocked it and it is running now at 75hz. According to NVIDIA CP. Thats what I meant, I over clocked it.

Sorry man just noticed the message. What problems are you having>? Yeah its showing as PNP Generic but then in audio playback devices (the tray you click to change volume) it is recognised as my model

I tried to overclocked like you and it get maximum 75 in Nvidia custom resolution. The problem was In Nvidia setting its shows as 75hz but in Nvidia GeForce experience and Assassin creed origins it shows 59hz. So why overclock refresh rate not supporting in games despite Nvidia Cutom resolution was successfuly created and applied.

I see man. This is something very complex, I am quite new to this too. I had the 59 HZ lock as well, I think it was in Deus EX Mankind divided. So what I did was change from Fullscreen to Borderless or other way around. I think that helped me go to 75Hz. Or was it V sync? I remember it was something to do with display and monitor. Same with Rainbox Six The Siege. Just play with those settings gamewise. It was definatly 59Hz in Deus EX and I wasnt happy, so did change it by playing around and it went to 75hz.

I have not played Assasin and not intend to, so I wouldnt have a clue

In terms of black screen, that is even worse man. Maybe try uninstalling and then installing drivers.

Could this be due to monitor overclock? Again, I'm too noob to tell you this.

Man I think I applied all the techniques and Idieas I found in the internet so far.
That includes

- Windows reinstall
- Nvidia driver reinstall
- Format Nvidia drivers with ddu uninstaller
- Disable intregated Graphics.
- Connect with VGA
- Connect with displayport(Vx24 doesn't have displayport so I bought an DP to HDMI adapter.
- Format HDD
- Overclock refresh rate
- Downclock refreshrate
- Download Asus vx24 inf file and manually install it from Display driver and Now its showing its name instead of generic pnp but I don't think its worked cause I can't open Asus frametime.
- Disable Net framework 4.7 in windows feature and Enable net framework 3.5(direct x11 required it)
- Reset monitor factory settings
- Install third party repair software to repair the driver.
- Install ubuntu and it is only one boot very fast and successfully detect my monitor but sadly Its not enough for regular use.
- Open toms hardware account despite my shitty english.
Problem started after my friend brought his new hp22 monitor to test in my PC before he went to capital city . I think we mix up each other HDMI. I can't tell dude which one is mine actually cause I can't find it in internet how vx24 HDMI suppose to look like but I don't think its causing problem. HDMI can't cause black screen or bad performance in gaming.
I am noob and I thought the generic pnp is causing the issue cause the windows failed to detect original driver but Now you are telling me its should be generic pnp. I am losing all hope man. Windows 10 needs 5 minutes to boot and withcher 3 and basically all games stutters with 60fps.

Which video card do you have? You are using HDMI I see. Thats good. Also, what is your driver version on PNP? Mine is 10.0.15063.0

Also my driver date is 21/06/2006 which is strange but to be honest as long as I get my games and they run good at 1440p and the image looks ok I dont really wanna touch it.

I remember i tried installing driver from the website but it didnt give me anything and said that my driver is already good

Just ask the pros around. Could it be your video card maybe? Driver or something like that?
