suddenly the wireless capability on my windows 10 64bit asus x555ub-nh51 not only has disappeared but although I can see the wireless device in device mgr, nothing shows up in network connections except bluetooth. try as i might fn+f2 (airplane off/on) does not help, and i can find no switch or button anywhere (hardware or software) to turn on / re-enable my realtek (8821AE wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC) wireless radio switch/button or any wireless capabilities. So far, I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wlan device drivers but that will be next. If anybody knows where on the asus x555ub-nh51 there is a functional wireless radio, button, or switch, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much

Thanks very much, but unfortunately have tried that - doesn't seem to be any sort of physical switch or button that I can find. also nothing about it in the users manual. now trying system restore and if that doesn't do it will try and completely uninstall and reinstall all the wireless lan software & drivers etc. thanks much. would still much appreciate any other ideas you might have.

Well, I just wanted to let you know that, although there is indeed no physical switch, the uninstall/reinstall of WLAN drivers & software did the trick. Thanks much for your prompt response and assistance. ;-)
