So I received a laptop from a family member just recently (He says he got it from a yard sale without a charger) and when I finally got it charged and turned on (After a serious charger hunt went down) I'm both locked out of the HDD by a user password and the Bios by another Password.

I've taken it apart and pulled the Cmos to reset. That didnt work.

I've tried countless times to get into the Bios boot menu using the Asus admin password route. That has also been futile.

The only way I see myself getting into this laptop is if I were to buy a brand new HDD, put it in another Laptop, install Windows 7 on that HDD, replace this encrypted one, boot back up into Windows 7 then pursue the Asus Admin route again to unlock the Bios.

Pretty much all I'm wondering is if there is a better and easier way to go about this.

Just to let everyone know it is impossible for me to get into the boot menu, and it's default selected to boot up from the HDD slot. Flash drives are useless 🙁

Solution
I don't think anyone will help you crack a password here.

I assume from your description of your situation your funds are tight, so you'll probably not like my solution for you. But I would suggest you remove the hard drive, install a new one, install windows on it (after purchasing a legal copy), then use the windows based ASUS utilities to unlock and update the bios; of course you'll probably have issues doing this due to the locked bios. which means you'll probably need to contact ASUS for support, perhaps get a solution from them to your problem. If they can't help, then you'll likely need to install windows on the drive using a separate pc, then repair the install after putting it into the laptop... of course this means you...
