Hi all

I just built my first AMD system in 15+ years with a Ryzen 3700X and an Asus X470 Prime-Pro and 16G Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000 CL16.

I'd like to know what settings I should enable to make sure my system is running at it's full potential.

Right now, everything is at the default settings except memory speed, which I had to change from Auto to DDR4-3000. The Auto setting had my DDR4-3000 memory running at 2166.

Thanks!

First make sure you are using the newest BIOS:
Version 5220
2019/09/24 14.63 MBytes
PRIME X470-PRO BIOS 5220
Update AGESA 1.0.0.3ABBA to improve system performance.
Removes Gen 4 support when using Ryzen 3000 CPUs.

If you are NOT using that BIOS version, enter the BIOS setup and set the Optimized Default settings (on the Exit Tab) and then save and reset.
Then enter the BIOS again and go into the Tools Menu and choose EZflash and flash that BIOS version.
Then go back into the BIOS and re-enable your DOCP RAM settings.

I have an Asus ROG Strix B450-F with a 3700x and I enabled Precision Boost Overdrive on the AI Tweaker tab with +100 Mz Max Boost.
Also choose Level 2 or 3 OC for the Performance Enhancer Setting.
This tweaks the PBO using settings from The Stilt and Asus.
I use level 2 for 24/7 use.

Then click on the AMD overclocking option and go into the Precision Boost Overdrive settings and set PBO to Advanced, PBO Scalar to 10x, Max Boost to 100 Mhz or 200 Mhz and leave the Throttle Limit on Auto.
This screen was taken before I set Scalar at 10x and Max Boost to 100 Mhz because 100Mhz gave me the same results as 200 Mhz.

The save and exit the BIOS.
