Asus x501a Bios Username Password

I tried to clear the bios username password, but failed. Now I can't get past an initial screen that says "Enter Password". The former password doesn't work and not anything else. Computer won't enter bios or boot at all. Just "enter password." Would removing the CMOS battery reset the bios username password? Is there a way to use a usb recovery program. (Computer does not have a CD or DVD drive). Asus "support" has been useless, even though the computer is properly registered with them. Their initial estimate for repairs is more than the computer cost. I would appreciate any help you can offer.

I'm very sorry but we do not assist with requests for bypassing security features so this thread is being closed. Please continue to work with Asus for a resolution. I hope you'd appreciate this policy should your laptop or other device ever get lost or stolen.
