I switched on my asus x550c laptop to use and found that the keyboard and touch pad have both stopped working.

Hi kookle3010; i have same issue ;you say try uninstalling the driver from device manager.then scan for new hardware changes?
how are we supposed to do that if PC is stuck on log in,if can't type name and password, how to get to the install drivers, also i connected a external Keyboard with mouse pad the mouse pad works but the keyboard doesn't,any help would be appreciated.

Attached a USB mouse and left click. Your password screen comes up, go to the right hand side of the screen fpr a windows 10 (on windows 7, it is on the left bottom) and left click on ease-of-access. You will find an option fpr putting the keyboard on your screen. You will be able to use the external Mouse to click on the buttons.
