ASUS X550ZE not using dedicated graphics. Help!

I have an ASUS X550ZE AMD laptop, with an Quad-core AMD FX-7600P at 2.7Ghz and turboboost to 3.6Ghz. This cpu comes with integrated AMD R7 Graphics. On the laptop is says Radeon Dual Graphics, and I know that my laptop has an R5 230 2GB Graphics card. I don't know if it is better than the R7 but anyway, since is has dedicated memory. On AMD's graphics settings programme, I can only select APU Graphics or Cross-fire Graphics where they both are used together. However, every game that I'm playing, like Minecraft and Total War etc say in they graphics settings, CPU = AMD FX-7600P, GPU= AMD R7. What makes it worse is it says i have 3GB of Video RAM, which is correct because it should 1GB for the integrated and 2GB for the dedicated, but I'm still not sure because I've never seen the R5 230 pop up on any game, just AMD R7

Not exactely, integrated cards will use the main system memory as its VRAM. Dedicated cards only use your system RAM as a sort of page file. In the CCC do you see the switchable graphics option?

ok, 1) what's the CCC? In the AMD Graphics Catalyst thing I select between just APU and APU+GPU

Yes, CCC stands for Catylist Control Center, AMD's version of a GPU control panel. You can access it by right clicking on the desktop.
