Hi all. Not quite sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but I'm casting a wide net.
I've got a (relatively) older laptop that I've been trying to convert into a productivity machine, win10's rather slow so thought linux mint might be a nice fit. Unfortunately using it without any sound output is quite inconvenient. I don't really have a clue on the speakers, tried checking the connection and anything else - don't really know how to test them otherwise. No I/O detected at all. For a little context the audio's been buggered ever since I downgraded the machine to win7 from win8 six or seven years ago, and after awhile of driver tomfuckery I gave up. A fresh win10 install had the same issues even after installing all of the relevant drivers from Asus' site.
I'm aware it's got one of those foxconn bluetooth wireless combo cards (MT7630e 802.11bgn if that helps) , but no luck on finding any drivers for it as the BT output is undetected. I've tried turning UEFI secureboot off as well, but no luck as the option's grayed out in the bios. Wireless is fine, but bluetooth seems to not be functional. An rfkill simply returns the the unblocked wifi card.
Please forgive my ignorance, I am but a windows tourist and lack much knowledge of kernel-level anything.
