I just installed a fresh legit copy of windows 7 home premium to an Asus x55a laptop..
Installation was clean, but after updating windows I noticed the usb controller wasn't working. It says it can't find any drivers in device manager, and of course theres the little yellow exclamation.
Nothing works... tried flash drives, external hard drives, external sound card... none of them light up, the computer doesn't respond in any way.
I've repeatedly tried asus's website but to no avail.
I've tried the intel INF driver here: http://www.service.asus.com/#!downloads/c1wax
When that failed, I tried to look up drivers for the actual motherboard itself which directed me back to the same link above 🙁 I get the feeling this is a really basic fix but I just can't find it... any ideas?
