[SOLVED] Asus x570 Prime PRO --- GPU and lanes ?

Hi,

I am about to buy Asus x570 prime pro + 5950x
I am gonna use 2 x 3080 Ti graphics cards.

Im gonna use slot 1 and slot 6 for the gpus, cause they need space (see images attached)

My question is: how many lanes each gpu will use? Manual doesnt show what happens if i connect 2nd gpu to slot 6.

What PSU do you intend to use to power these hulking GPUs? Why two of them?

The way I read the manual, it looks like the PCIe slots you intend to use will both be x8 (2 x PCIe 4.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)).

I need 2 gpus cause I do 3d rendering.

I have a RTX 3080 Ti in my game rig. It is a performance beast, but does generate some fan noise and heat when under a heavy load. Something to be aware of. Two of them would be a lot to contend with. They are also HUGE. Hope you have a very large case.

I don't think you'll have enough space at the bottom of the case to accommodate the 2nd GPU. They are very wide.

The way I read the manual is that slot 6 (specified in the OP) will be fed from the chipset and be max x4

No, you need to read the manual. It is specified in the users manual.
