So just found out why my new PC wont boot, looks like the I7-6800k needs a newer BIOS that the Asus X99-A /USB 3.1 doesnt have...

So how can i update it without being able to enter BIOS or anything? I havem't found anything to this problem and I have already spent about 2200€. Do I need to buy another motherboard or what?

If I have to, what board do you recommend

Solution
the X99-A/USB 3.1 supports BIOS Flashback - Download the BIOS, put it on a FAT32 formatted USB drive, plug it in and your ready to go

can get the BIOS here:

It's unfortunate 🙁 Intel really should have made some way to differentiate between X99 prior to Broadwell-E, and X99 after Broadwell-E, similar to what they did with Haswell and Haswell Refresh with Z87/H87 etc... and Z97/H97.

I know that ASUS are going to be adding the prefix 'II' to their motherboard names denoting that they support Broadwell-E out of the box, for example you'll have 'ASUS X99-A' and 'ASUS X99-A II'.

Your only options really are to get a BIOS chip with the latest BIOS on and then fit it to your motherboard, find a computer shop with a Haswell-E that would update the BIOS for you, or buy a new motherboard.

The ASUS X99-E is the only motherrboard I know of that supports Broadwell-E out of the box, but I'm sure there are lots more.

Well, thx for the quick answer. I guess trying to find some shops that could update it for me best.

I'm not sure what you mean about the BIOS chip? Does that mean the thing that the cpu goes into? How does that work?

Solution
The Asus x99-A USB 3.1 will only support the i7 6800k after a certain revision of BIOS. This is the motherboard / cpu I have as well, and I just got it working not long ago.

Let me know if you're still having questions on it.
