Hello all,

Just enjoying a new X99 build with the Asus X99 Deluxe. All is well other than the fact that Asus AI Suite has my chassis fan 4 locked in with the CPU fan and not adjustable. My NZXT Kraken x61 with its two radiator fans is occupying CPU fan, my rear fan is fan 2, middle fan is fan 3, and front intake fan is fan 4. AI Suite has some cool fan adjusting applications, but they are keeping my front fan 4 locked with the CPU for some reason. No big deal, just wondering if anyone knows why it does this. As far as I can find via the MB manual it should be treated the same as 1, 2, or 3 chassis fans. I'm also not using the fan extension. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks!

Solution
Depends on the max rpm your fan can spin at with PWM enabled.
Is the fan it`s self a Pwm fan if not it will lock at a set rpm.

An easy way to tell is it should be a four wire fan, if it`s only got three wires for the front case fan it`s the problem. 4 wires Pwm. Three means it will run at a set rpm.

Solution
Actually the other two case fans have three wires and are all independently controllable. The front fan has only two wires. That must be it! Thanks for the noob knowledge. My first build in a long time. All this fan controlling stuff is new to me!
