[SOLVED] Asus X99 Deluxe compatibility

Does anyone know if the Asus X99 Deluxe (not the X99 Deluxe II) will support the i7 6950X CPU without a BIOS update?

And if it does require a BIOS update, then will I need to flash it with an older CPU, or does this particular board support BIOS flashing without a CPU, as I've heard some high end Asus boards support this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sure it supports that cpu with the proper bios. You need to know which bios is loaded to know if an updated one is necessary and a bootable bios is needed to update it.Look here to find the bios version for that cpu and the date it was released.

i7-6950x will need bios version 3004.
USB BIOS Flashback is present.

OOps, yes I'm corrected, the bios flashback is there and flashes a bios based on a working board even without cpu.

I think that I have found what I was looking for, but I may be wrong, so please advise me on what to do if I am.

I think that I can update the BIOS without the need of a CPU in there as Asus has a feature called "flash back" which this board supports.
