Asus X99 Deluxe II motherboard power question

I'm just wiring up my very first PC build and have a question regarding the power connectors on my motherboard (an X99 deluxe II) and my Corsair AX1200i Psu , and the motherboard manual is a little vague.

I have connected up both the 24 pin and 8 pin power cables to my PSU but do i still need to connect a cable from my PSU to the 4 pin 12v connector on the motherboard too?

I ask as there wasnt suitable cable that came with the PSU which leads me to think it is not required. Is this correct?

You have the right connector already with that power supply the 8 pin for the CPU should split in to parts 4+4 pin. I always like to use all the power connectors for the board.
On the left we have the 24-pin ATX, over on the right is two 4+4-pin EPS12V/ATX12V cables.
