I bought the ASUS X99 Deluxe mainboard with a CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4 2800 kit. The mainboard does not recognize any manufacturer information for these memory modules and X.M.P. cannot be enabled.

Is there a compatibility issue with the mainboard? Am I missing something?

The only way mine works is to set everything to default and run the AI Suite optimization. If I try doing it manually, it won't work. Also, I usually keep my system running 24/7, but if I shut it down completely, it won't post again. I have to go through the entire process again. Sometimes it uses a 127.5 BCLK, sometimes a 126.5, sometimes a 126, it's never the same. I think it makes a difference in posting after doing a warm boot vs a cold boot.

Is your system still running well with these settings? I'm running a 125 strap and set BCLK to 127.5 and my system will post and works fine. I usually have my system on 24/7, but whenever I turn my system completely off for a couple of days, like if I leave town for a while, when I get back and turn it on, it won't post with those settings. I have to set everything back to default, let my system run for a little while, and then change the settings. Sometimes it still won't post. If I use the 5 way optimization, it'll change my settings back, but the BCLK might be at 126.5, or 126. It's never consistent, and the only way I can change the settings and it post is if I let it do it automatically, like running the 5 way optimization in AI Suite. Everytime I shut my system completely down, I have to go through this again.

Hi

Did you end up finding out how to fix this issue

I have same setup even graphics card
Ram runs slow
Constant freezing
Sometimes I'm stuck in an infinite restart loop

The only solution I've come up with isn't really a solution. It's similar to putting a bandaid on a severed arm. In my BIOS, I have to set everything to default settings. Once my system boots, I run the 5 way optimization in AI Suite. When my system reboots, most of the time it gets hung up before posting. The red LED on the top right of the MB comes on (memory problem), and I have to reset it. After reseting, it boots up into the BIOS since I have my reset button hooked up to the Direct pins (which I have to use quite frequently). I set everything back to default settings, save & restart, but now it boots into Windows and the 5 way optimization continues to work. It'll run a few times, and it usually ends up setting a 125 strap, set BCLK to 127.5 (it's always different, but varies between 127.5 & 126.3, sets a multiplier at 35, which gives me 4.4Ghz and approx 3000Mhz memory.

Now, I usually let my system run 24/7. If I install something and have to do a warm reset, it comes back up fine. If I ever turn my system completely off, when I turn it back on, the red LED comes back on and I have to repeat the entire process again. I've tried saving the settings and applying the settings when this happens, but it never works. Everytime I do this and run the 5 way optimization, the settings are slightly different than they were before, usually with the BCLK. Never have I been able to manually overclock the setting in the BIOS and it work unless I stick with a 100 strap, overclock my CPU, and let my memory run underclocked. I've tried changing the voltages, manually adjust the timings, tweaked it using increments of .1 on the BCLK and increments of. 01 volts on the memory, and multiple combinations, but this memory on this board must have some incompatibility issues because I've never been able to find a setting that works consistently.

I'd also like to know if anyone has this setup and doesn’t have these issues. It's very frustrating, and I'm not sure if this is an Asus problem or a Corsair problem. I just want to be able to set this thing so it works consistently. If I need to buy different memory, I will, but everything is only a few months old, and I feel like if I call Corsair about it, they'll say it's a problem with Asus and if I call Asus, they'll say it's a problem with Corsair. After trying both XMP profiles and tweaking everything imaginable under each profile, tweaking everything under a manual profile, tweaking everything under the Auto profile, there is no consistent setting to overclock my CPU and run my memory over 2600Mhz.

So, to answer your question, no. By the way, I'm running dual Nvidia 780 Tis, not AMD, so this problem exists regardless of the type of GPU.

Cold boot issue usually caused by memory not passing 'training'. Upping ram voltage a tad could solve that.

Getting high ram speeds stable on x99 can be a real challenge (with very little gain). Also 125 strap has its disadvantages (mainly cpy voltage related). I advise using 100 strap and 2666 mhz ram.

Important is that you should not have any issue @ stock settings (bios optimized defaults -> ram @ 2133Mhz). If you do, you have eigther a hardware issue or inproper installation.

If I set the BIOS to its default settings, I have no issue whatsoever. So you recommend me use a 100 strap instead of 125, no XMP profile, run my memory slower than its 2800Mhz,and overclock my CPU only? Whenever I could get my system to post using a 125 strap, the BCLK was normally set somewhere between 125 & 127.5. It was always different. Once, after using the 5 way optimization is AI Suite, it changed my BIOS to a 100 strap but BCLK of 125. I always thought the BCLK settings needed to be close to the strap settings. What's the difference between setting the strap and setting the BCLK?

Hi, how do I download and install this SPD update please

Uncle vernon, the new spd update is added to Thaiphoon Burner spd database. But before flashing it with this software make sure the "DRAM SPD Write" option is set to "Enable". It is in the "Ai Tweaker" UEFI Setup section. Utherwise you will cannot reprogram SPD EEPROM of your memory modules.

thanks very much I will look into that

So, it has been a few months after the New Corsair 16GB 2800 RAM I did an RMA on that SEEMED to work fine. I was running the system BLCK 127.3 to get XMP to 2800 as Haswell-E will not run 2800 with a BLCK of 100MHz default strap only 125+ BLCK. System POSTed for months no issues, playing PlanetSide2, StarWars BattleFront in 4k @ 60FPS Ultra setting no issues,

UNTIL TODAY for some reason...

Just would not POST on Cold start. Many failed Posts. My system wants to run this RAM now as XMP 3000 with wrong timings or as 2133 default for HaswellE, like the old problem just randomly started up again like voodoo. Did new BIOS update from 1701 to 1901 and the system is WORSE! ANY 125 strap fails to post now, and the RAM in slot A1 fails to read most of the time and shows 12GB. Then system will not do anything but reboot over and over and over.... WTF? After a dozen+ restarts the system shows 16GB, but running 100 strap with ram of 2400 with incorrect timings and under-clocked CPU. The system will not post using ASUS optimized defaults. The system will not POST with CPU turbo on.

I almost had to use wife's laptop to view this website and do more research because this pig sometimes wont even go to BIOS anymore!!!! It POSTs, makes the beep, then the ASUS screen pops up asking to hit f2 or delete to go into BIOS and when I hit Delete, the PC freezes and is unresponsive with a black screen, only way to fix it is restart via MB button. On next post system will show 12GB ram. Many people have this issue with corsair RAM if you google it, even up to sept 6th just a few weeks ago a poor gentleman got an X99 deluxe ASUS and Corsair 16GB DDR4 2133 (correct speed), but he has same issues. Wont even read the ram at all. Says unknown ram type in BIOS and his CPUz... I don't think its the MOBO ASUS x99-a because the deluxe models have same issues. Even with 2133 ram that is supported by Hasewll-E at base 100MHz Strap. My solution: Screw Corsair Ram of any speed and I'm dropping more $ on some G Skill or Hyper X tomorrow. I can't have this nonsense. This is a work PC as much as a gaming PC.

Ill let u guys know what happens...

My issues Stared back up today at random after I RMA the ram a few months ago (june) and it seemed to fix it... My issues are are similar to yours in that I cannot get this system stable at prescribed speeds. Sometimes I can't Post. other times ram shows 12GB.... this trash all of a sudden starts back up out of the blue. I do shut off my PC every night and I never had POST issues till this morning and NO nothing has changed that should cause it not to post. I did a new BOIS update to 1901, issues are worse I think. Even asus optimized defaults will not work. Forget Overclocking id just like to get it at default speed have it not black screen on me at random.
I was running starwars battlefornt in 4K at 60FPS no issues. Its the ram I think. If I go to open a video game, the PC black screens. and will then boot showing 12GB and slot A1 is blank. I'm buying new modules tomorrow from different MFG like G. Skill or Hyper X. this is too annoying to deal with. Corsair makes a lot of good stuff, the RAM ain't one of em.

Oh yeah, ASUS X99A/USB3.1 Intel 5820 O/Clked. 32 GB G.Skill 2400 running XMP profile. Intel 750 SSD Boot. 4 Samsung 850 EVOs. ASUS R9380 4GB O/Clked. W10 Pro. APC 1500 and a lot of other stuff. Consistently stable for 4 months. Never again Newegg or Corsair and I've had big problems with both. First time shame on you. . . . . . .
