I finished putting together my rig, which is mainly used for video editing (and audio) and am trying to figure out 1. the best HD setup for this rig and 2. which SATA ports I should use for the HD's and Blu-Ray Drives.

Components:

- Intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E 8-Core 3.0 GHz LGA 2011-v3
- ASUS-X99-DELUXE/U3.1 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s
- GeForce GTX -980 Ti 06G-P4-4995-KR 6GB SC+
- CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 64GB (8 x 8GB) -288-Pin SDRAM DDR4 2666
- Corsair Obsidian 750D Black Computer Case
- Corsair AX1200iCORSAIR AXi Series AX1200i 1200W Power Supply
- Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX Extreme Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm
- Pioneer Black 16X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 12X BD-ROM 4MB Cache
- Pioneer Black 16X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 12X BD-ROM 4MB Cache
- SAMSUNG 850 PRO 2.5" 512GB SATA III Solid State Drive (OS)
- SAMSUNG 850 PRO 2.5" 512GB SATA III Solid State Drive
- SAMSUNG 850 PRO 2.5" 512GB SATA III Solid State Drive
- Western Digital Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM (project backup drive)
- Western Digital Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM (project backup drive)

- Blackmagic Design DeckLink 4K Extreme

Based on the SATA ports on the mobo, any recommendations which should component should go in which SATA port (view image). Still kind of new to it. Wasn't planning on RAID them but am open to it if speed is that much better.

Solution
Intel is primary choice with ten SATA ports while the ASMedia is secondary with two more ports.

Intel X99 chipset :
1 x SATA Express port, , compatible with 2 x SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports
8 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), *3,
Support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10
ASMedia SATA Express controller : *5
1 x SATA Express port, , compatible with 2 x SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports

*3: Due to chipset behavior, The SATA6G_78, SATA6G_910 ports (black) do not support IRST including RAID configuration.
*5: These SATA ports are for data hard drivers only. ATAPI devices are not supported.
