Dear friend, I have a X99 -Pro motherboard, i7-5820k intel cpu, corsair LPX VENGANCE 2800Mhx Memory, EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 750Ti. Everything was ok, until I was trying to set the memory frecuency to 2800Mhz. I received code error 53 (Memory Speed and compatibilty) on the motherboard and the mother board did not boot. I lef only the cpu on the motherboard and was trying to recover the BIOS with flashback mode, but I was not successfull. Please, what can I do??? help me

Friend, you are my hero. Many thanks it worked. I have my PC again. At first, when I reinstalled, it was not detecting one RAM Module, may be it was not properly installed, because, I re - installed that module and it is also working now. I wonder two things: why 53 error code was there without the RAM settings installed? and also the BIOS reflash does not work properly?

Thanks again.

HI which ram slot did you use. Also are all the other slots working now as well?

I had a thermaltake p5 case, with Asus x99 pro 3.1 Intel i7 3970k 16gb (2*8gb) hyper memory and 780ti edition and faced similar problem, the solution in my case was that the motherboad pins and capictor ends in the bottom side were in contact with the case which caused the shortage, after lossening the screws a bit it worked like a charm. Try not ruling out motherboard shortage from metal connections

Hi, I just experienced the same problem with my motherboard. I turn it on, had 3 continuous beeps and it didn't display on my screen at all. I took out all the ram, battery, everything. It turns out (in my case) that I inserted all RAM into the motherboard and turned it on. When it was on and beeping, I hit the ReadRam button on the board, tiny black button next to my RAM. That reset it all and my computer was fine. Just posting to help anyone else in the future.

I was getting this error when my ram wasn't slotted correctly. The board has slots with a vertical sleeve on one side and a latch on the other. So, I would insert the ram, push down on the side with the latch, causing it to *click* into place and the latch to flip up. Nowhere in the instructions or on any forum have I seen this specific mistake. I've seen a few that just say "you're supposed to push down harder".

Anyway, once it latches, you also have to push down on the other side, the one held in the vertical sleeve (no latch). After pushing down, you will hear a click.

This solved the problem for me.

I just wanted to say Thank You for posting this information. I encountered this error code assembling my new build with an ASUS P10S WS motherboard and my issue was immediately resolved.

If anyone searching for this thread is STILL getting error 53 with multiple attempts with diff mobos and tried everything the internet has suggested (like flashing Bios, Mem OK, even RMAing your CPU, different RAM sticks):

THEN IT COULD LIKELY BE YOUR CPU FAILING.

I had this exact issue (except my system was running for a year before the mobo/cpu died) and spent over a week (40+ hrs) debugging, ordering new parts, ordered a 2nd CPU RMA (so I figured there was no way it was also bad) trying every configuration possible. Eventually I gave up and bought all new parts (not x99/5820k) and got my system up and running (using the older same ram, so that was not the problem).

Luckily my friend bought the same exact system and his was up and running. I wanted to put the problem to rest, so he installed my CPU into his fully functional system...and guess what?? Error 53. He swapped his CPU back in and it was fully functional. So don't be afraid to assume your CPU has failed (or also the 2nd RMA one you got is also broken) if you have tried multiple Motherboards all with error 53.

Peace
