Hello everybody!
I have an issue with my computer but at first seems that I should give you my PC's specs:
CPU: Intel i7 6800k
Motherboard: Asus x99 strix
Videocard: Asus GTX 1080 strix OC
PSU: corsair rm1000i
Memory: Kingston HyperX Predator 4*4GB DDR4 3000Mhz
Others is not important, just for any case:
Cooling: corsair h110i
SSD1: Samsung 850 EVO 250Gb
SSD2: Samsung 850 EVO 500Gb
HDD: WD Purple 2Tb
Asus Aura RGB Strips
Today I turned on PSU (it was off), tried to turn my PC on and nothing happened. I've started to investigate what was wrong. So I press turn on button. Computer starts, goes through some q-codes and then turns off. Before internal speaker produces sound that everything is fine. Last q-code before turning off was 41 then 00 then off. I checked all wires inside PC, tried to push MemOk button, tried to reset BIOS to defaults, removed battery from motherboard. And restarted computer a lot of times. In half of an hour of attempts ones everything went fine, BIOS loaded but in 5 secs computer turned of by itself and again same story. It turns off in several seconds after turning on.
So I moved all the parts from my PC and started to build it on motherboard box.
1 config:
motherboard + cpu + psu
same story. reloaded it multiple times. sometimes it turned of after 41 code, sometimes after 35. Finally i turned of XMP switch on motherboard. Same story, nothing has changed. Turned it on again. And bios passed some checks and started complain about missing RAM. Good sign!
2 config:
motherboard + cpu + psu + 4Gb DDR4
BIOS thought for a while but produced this beep sound that everything is ok
3 config:
motherboard + cpu + psu + 4*4Gb DDR4
same story - everything is ok
4 config:
motherboard + cpu + psu + 4*4Gb DDR4 + GPU + SSD1 + mouse + keyboard
everything is ok - I see BIOS. it works. Through BIOS I booted windows. It loaded and worked pretty well.
After 5 minutes I decided to turn PC off and to turn it on one more time to be sure that everything is fine. Aaaaand. Power button push, q-code 00, off. Repeated it several times. Result was the same - 00. In 5 minutes tried to turn it on again. Now not 00, but after a second it turns off after 25 or 41 q-code.
I can't understand was is wrong with it. Maybe somebody has some thoughts? Computer is older than 1 year so not sure that all parts still have warranty.
In my opinion problems might be in:
motherboard (most probably)
bad contacts somewhere (most probably)
PSU
CPU
Thank you for your help.
P.S. it was not even overclocked
