So I have this Asus board that I want to test and I have a Xeon e5 1603 V3, but I'm missing 8 eps pins from my psu so I was wondering if I need all 16 or if 8 is enough. Also what is the 6 pin connector in the middle of the board and do I need to power it, and if so does it use pci-e connectors?

Solution
That 6 pin on center is for assuring stable voltage for videocards. You need an adaptor for that. Also it is very recomended to use all 8 pins power, if not only is ok to use for a while but not recomended.
