Hey everybody, I don't know what I did but now my audio is echoing and I can't figure out what to disable to stop it. I'm running an Asus Xonar DGX card on a Asrock z77 extreme 6 mobo. I was trying to figure out where I could put the input for my wireless headphones when it just started. I tried clicking the environment effects on the sound center interface to disable it, but that made the echo into an speaker busting feedback loop. Any help you can give me is appreciated!

I forgot to say that I have my tv hooked up by hdmi and when I use soundswitch to put the audio on the tv, the echo is not present. Is it something with soundswitch. Also, when I plug into the second jack (where the manual says to put the speakers), the audio is not present. I had them plugged into the third jack (side surround, ugh). Did I ruin the card? Again, thanks!

Solution

Integrated sound sucks. I also have the DGX and it's great. You need to have your headphone hooked into the green input on the back of the sound card to enable the headphone AmP.
To my knowledge, they're not on. At least, they're not clicked on. Should I leave the speakers in the side surround jack? Sorry, I'm a noob at sound cards. I'm beginning to think I should have stuck with the integrated sound. =(

I was loving the DGX too before this! I'm pretty sure it's more me than the card though. Where should the 2 speakers be plugged? I have some very basic logitech speakers, no woofers, right now anyway.

In the green input.

I thought that was for the headphones? Or is it either/or?

Both. The headphone AMP works wonders for using as a pre amp for your speakers. It will enable cleaner, crisper and more powerful sound from your speakers.

Alright, I just uninstalled the card and reinstalled. Now everything is back to normal, except I had one more question. I have my speakers in the green imput in the card, and they sound great (thanks Darkman69!). I'm going to use the front panel to plug in my headphones for using at the computer as I work. But is there anywhere I can plug in my second pair of headphones that are wireless? Let me know if I have any options! Thanks everyone! =)

Remember if you plus the headphones into the front panel you will loose the headphone amplification so it will not be nearly as clear and powerful sounding.

I think it would probably be better if I had my headphones in the amp imput. Where else could I plug in my speakers? I suppose I could run a cord extension and plug my wireless into the front headphone jack. That would be fine with me. Is there any way to use the integrated audio on the mobo for my tv watching in bed or is it not possible to use a sound card and the integrated audio? I'm not sure. Again thank you for your patience with this noob!

I wonder if just splitting the two headphones and then plugging the splitter into the sound card would be the solution. I'm not going to be using the two at the same time. lol

That will work. You will defiantly want to make use of the built in AMP.
