Recently my old trusty Sennheiser PC360 died after years of good use. So I bought myself a new pair of headphones, the Beyerdynamics BT990 pro. For work I do edits so they fit the job perfectly.

The only problem right now is that I dont have a microphone. And since im also a cameraman I figured out I could use my Rode NTG 4+ (shotgun microphone) as it has a build in battery so it doesn't need any phantompower to work. But unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. I do get some sound but the levels are waaaaay to low and sound distorted (clipped).

So I was wondering if anyone else tried to pair a mic of the same sorts and had the same issues, or knows if it is possible at all?

The microphone I want to pair:
