Was wondering if this sound card will work with my current computer. here are my specs:

Yes, so long as you have a PCIe 1x slot and MOLEX connector free your computer can use the Xonar Essence STX.

After installation make sure yer manually set the Xonar as the default playback and recording device in your control panel.
You could then also disable the onboard sound in the BIOS, but this is not strictly necessary.

I'm not fully tech savvy so what exactly do you mean? What do I need to do for it to go in the computer?
