So for my soon to be mine rigg, I'm thinking about combining the Z-170 pro gaming from asus with Noctua's D15 (and a 6700K) and do some serious overclocking 🙂

However, the D15 is a bit large (understatement of the minute, worldwide that is), so does anyone know if it will block say some ram slots?

Thanks a bunch

From what I understand the D15 has area's cutout specifically for the ram, though you might still have a problem with ram that have HUGE heat spreaders, and depending on how you install the fans.

I don't know if you just prefer air cooling or just haven't thought about going with watercooling, but I personally went with a Corsair H100i GTX for my 5820k and it keeps my CPU really frosty. The Skylake chips run a bit hotter though and I've read a bunch of people have issues with temps when overclocking those chips, so just something to keep in mind. If it were me going with a 6700k I would most likely go with a Corsair H110i GTX or a full custom loop, and make sure to pick your PC case accordingly. Good luck!

thanks for the tips
the corsair is about twice the price of the d15 in my home country so I would rather go with the latter.
I'm considering G-skill ripjaws 4 F4 3000 which aren't small but certainly not huge.
as for the case i was thinking of the corsair 960t; plenty of space there I would say 🙂

Wow that is expensive.... That's a nice case and decent ram! Good Luck :)
