Hi,

I currently upgraded my system and there are a lot of settings in the bios that I've been playing around with. (build in my profile: asus z170-a, i5-6600k, cooler master 212 EVO)

I'm looking to keep my CPU temps to max 50 degrees and get the best performance of course.

Current Idle temps are around 30-33 and with the custom fan settings and Turbo-Boost turned OFF I get up to about 49 degrees during gaming, etc.

On POST I get a screen that shows Asus OVERCLOCK22%. Not sure what this is doing or impacting.

The other thing is when turbo boost is enabled, there doesn't seem to be any control over how much turbo it gives or what temperature ranges are OK.

What I'm asking is if someone can help me figure out which BIOS settings should be enabled/disabled to get the maximum amount of control over my CPU and RAM settings (I'd say I'm intermediate in terms of understanding everything that's going on in the BIOS).

Let me know if there are more questions as I don't like turning things on and off that I don't know what the impact will be

You should load optimized defaults, look for "XMP" and set it to "Profile1", go to the boot section and disable "CSM" and enable "Smart boot". That's about it. If you are disabling turbo boost in order to kkep your CPU under 50(btw, anyhing unde 80 C is perfectly fine) clearly, you have no idea what you are doing.
Go read/watch some guides if you want to overclock. A forum isn't realy the proper place to start learning as a comploete beginner.
