Bought and installed an Asus Z170-AR. Downloaded and installed all current drivers from Asus website. I sometimes get a connection and it works perfectly but mostly i get no connection and from troubleshooting i receive the message:

The Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware- related problems'

Could anyone advise me on what to do or a possible fix.

Thankyou

It just seemed to fix itself after i reinstalled the drivers a few times, but the same problem has returned now and im stuck again. Did you get yours working and if so how?

Also having this issue with the Z170-AR. Found a temporary fix... go into the BIOS, disable onboard ethernet- restart- start windows- BIOS again and reenable ethernet- start windows.

Fixes it for me every time but it's super annoying, have to do it daily.

I'm having the exact same issue with my Asus Z170A. Tried installing the drivers linked in the Meteorain post but it didn't fixed the issue, have you guys been able to fix it??

The one I previously linked was for Windows 10. Try first uninstalling the network adapter from device manager and deleting the current driver software before installing the new drivers linked.

If you have a different version of Windows you can download the following:

Windows 7:

Windows 8:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/21642/Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-8-

Windows 8.1:

Hopefully it works for you.

Balls, i thought that disableing EEE fixed it. And it did at first. 4 hours no problems yesterday. Today after boot and some working, the dropouts were there. So, no luck for now.

I've been having this issue since I brought it. Sometimes after pc comes from sleep or reboot, network card shows no internet connectivity. I go to device manager uninstall "Ethernet connection (2) I219-v" then scan for hardware changes and it's fixes it for the time I'm using it. But after shutdown or sleep seems to go back to internet connectivity issue.

SOLVED! ... at least for me. I ALWAYS appreciate the forums on TH, so I thought I would suck it up and take the time to reply, seeing as the method I'm about to explains actually WORKED for me. Ok nitty gritty,

Just built a new computer from scratch: Asus Z170-AR, i7 6700, 64 GB of Ram. I inserted the Asus update disk, and like most of you here ethernet would NOT update (I tried 3 or 4 times).

SOLUTION #1 (Didn't work for me, but I had WMI disabled)

I downloaded the driver onto my phone transferring over tom my comp via USB cable, which actually worked. HOWEVER as I had disabled Windows Management whatever whatever (WMI) because it causes my CPU to run at 100% and it is basically a giant pain. So when I went to open the downloaded file of the latest drivers it wouldn't let me run it without reactivating WMI - and that is NOT going to happen.

SO - HERE IS MY OTHER SOLUTION:

1.Insert the Asus Driver CD disk into your comptuer
2. Go to control panel
3. Open up Device Manager
4. Open up I want to say Network adapters
5. RIGHT CLICK on Lan/ethernet controller (says something like that)
5a. Choose "Update Driver Software"
5b. Choose the SECOND OPTION which says "Browse my computer for driver software"
6. Select the browse button
6a. Navigate to your disk drive with the Asus Driver CD and ***MAKE SURE "INCLUDE SUBFOLDERS" IS SELECTED!***
7. Push "next" and you should be done!

I hope this helps. I always appreciate the support on this site, hopefully this can help someone who is having what I have seen searching the internet to be a very common problem.

Best,
- Dave

IT WORKED!!! :)
I was having the same problem with my ASUS Z170-A Board. Updating BIOS didn't resolve the issue. Downloaded and installed the drivers from Intel through this link and it fixed it!!
Thank You!!!
