Hello,

Specifications:

* Asus z170 deluxe
* Intel i7 6700k with EK predator 240
* Corsair dominator platinum 16gb 3200mhz
* Evga 850 p2
* Asus GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II OC
* Hyperx 240 gb SSD
* Seagate 2TB HDD
* Phanteks Enthoo evolv atx

During the last couple of days I have encountered some problems with my pc. It started when I shut off my computer and noticed a red light on the motherboard. I figured it was the cpu_led , as I have had some problems with that previously. I narrowed that down to my waterblock being too tight, and it has not given me any problems lately.

Upon closer inspection of the red light I saw that it was marked as pled9600. It is situated right below the cpu socket. I consulted the manual, but it seems Asus has neglected to mention what this light indicates. When the pled9600 light is on the computer will simply not boot. Nothing is happening when I try to power it up. No movement of any kind. I´ve tried with both the case power button and onboard power button, but no success. At first I just flipped the PSU switch off/on, and It would boot. The PC would stay on for like 10 hours or so before I shut it down, and the pled9600 would instantly appear. As a couple of days has gone by it has become increasingly harder to get the pled9600 to disappear. I´ve had to leave the PSU off for several hours until I was able to boot again.

I´m hoping this light will be able to pinpoint the source of the problem. I figure it´s either the PSU or the motherboard.

All answers are appreciated.

1| You may want to pop out the Predator from your build and use a stock/air cooler around your house to see if the system powers up and shuts down without the Pled9600 being lit up for too long.
2| As you've stated, I too tried looking through their online manual in case some fo teh content was changed however the LED's position is marked in there without any mention of it in teh manual.

I'd suspect that it's due to a grounding issue. If you see that the removal of the Predator 240 causes the QLED to disappear then the backplate is either making contact with the solder points on your motherboard.

Last effort would be to contact Asus about this discrepancy.
