Going to build new gaming rig soon. General idea is simple: going for skylake i5-6600K, shiny new M.2 SSD and DDR3 RAM. DDR4 is simply not worth a trouble in my case. Where I live it goes for the price of gold, performance gain is negligable if any, plus I've got perfectly good 16gb of DDR3 ram in my current rig. Therefore my eyes have fallen on Asus Z170-P D3 motherboard as a cornerstone for this system which combines 1151 socket, DDR3 RAM and M.2 slot.
What bothers me, is that abovementioned Asus MB (alongside with very few others existing 1151\DDR3\M.2 motherboards) supports only AMD crossfire. I am not really interested in dual GPU setup as I'm planning on using single GTX 970 (AMD cards are not an option as I've grown increasingly sick with their drivers as of late) and simply replacing it when time comes. It's the fact that motherboard was specifically designed for AMD cards bothers me a little. As far as I'm concerned, there should be no real problems in using Nvidia card on such MB. But an expert opinion would be reassuring. Also if you've got any other suggestions on the build in general, I would gladly hear them.
Thanks in advance.
