Hello there. I recently purchased and assembled this build.
Motherboard: asus z170 pro gaming
RAM: KINGSTON Hyper x predator 2400
cpu: i7 6700k 4Ghz
psu: corsair AX860
VGA: Asus nvidia 970
I assembled them with watercooling, tried to start the pc, but when i press the button the pc starts and shutdowns after 1 sec.
I sent the motherboard back to the shop i pucrhased because i thought it was bad, it just came back as OK and it was updated to the lastest bios.
We tried an i5 on the motherboard, don't remember it's model, and it POST just fine. I thought
it was a bad cpu so i got it replaced.
Tried again with a new cpu and same problem.I switched to air cooling, almost the same thing now i have no POST but the cpu fan keeps running.
I tried ofc everything possible to debug, reseated cpu, reseated the bios battery, tested with only mobo+cpu+ram and powered on using a screwdriver.
It just seem this combination doesn't work, like the i7 can't work with my predators, maybe because it has a 1,35V?
Any thoughts/share of experience would be welcome.
Dimitris
UPDATE:
After some talk with asus greece and some guided tests, it seems like this motherboard has some issues with i7 6700k , i got a replacement code issued to me and iam shipping it back.
