Hello there. I recently purchased and assembled this build.
Motherboard: asus z170 pro gaming
RAM: KINGSTON Hyper x predator 2400
cpu: i7 6700k 4Ghz
psu: corsair AX860
VGA: Asus nvidia 970

I assembled them with watercooling, tried to start the pc, but when i press the button the pc starts and shutdowns after 1 sec.
I sent the motherboard back to the shop i pucrhased because i thought it was bad, it just came back as OK and it was updated to the lastest bios.
We tried an i5 on the motherboard, don't remember it's model, and it POST just fine. I thought
it was a bad cpu so i got it replaced.
Tried again with a new cpu and same problem.I switched to air cooling, almost the same thing now i have no POST but the cpu fan keeps running.

I tried ofc everything possible to debug, reseated cpu, reseated the bios battery, tested with only mobo+cpu+ram and powered on using a screwdriver.
It just seem this combination doesn't work, like the i7 can't work with my predators, maybe because it has a 1,35V?

Any thoughts/share of experience would be welcome.

Dimitris

UPDATE:

After some talk with asus greece and some guided tests, it seems like this motherboard has some issues with i7 6700k , i got a replacement code issued to me and iam shipping it back.

Update2 : Spoke with the technician of the shop i bought it, he said the cpu was fried( ! ) and he replaced the cpu, which is unbelievable, 2nd cpu fried? lol He said he spoke with asus and did some tests with them and the motherboard works fine.
He didn't know what q leds are, i had to guide him so he can see where they are.He complety ignored the fact that were not working.Neither does the speaker.
So in the best case scenario, i will have a motherboard that semi works. Iam waitting for it in 1-2 days and i will unbox and install it on video so i have proof. Already sent email of complaint to asus.
They have made me spend so much money in postal already i could have bought a better one.
I will write an update when i recieve it.

Update3: Got the parts today, assembled them with stock cooler and on boards graphics.
Qleds seem to be working fine
It posts, although at 1st it didn't give image through vga only through hdmi, but after a while it was ok.
Some other thing it starts itself if you shutdown turn the switch off and after 2-3 seconds you switch it on again.
When we tried to format, i had some blue screens, but at sometime, we managed to do it.
At Saturday i will place my water cooling and graphics card and will post the results.

I have a question for you, you seem like you know stuff like this. When we installed both times the cpu water block we removed the original backplate and installed the EK backplate but without the BAS washer as shown in the figure https://www.ekwb.com/shop/EK-IM/EK-IM-3831109800287.pdf . I think i haven't seen it, not sure though i don't have the box at my place atm to check it out. Is it possible that the fact we didn't place it fried my cpus?
