Will a z170 Pro Gaming Mobo work nicely with a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB NVMe M.2?

Should work great. If you are just gaming though a 970 is overkill. Get an Intel 660p.

Unless you are transferring a lot of large files then you’ll never notice the difference in speed between a 660p and a 970 evo plus.
