Hello everyone,

I'm currently in the process of building my first PC, and as the title suggests I'm using the Asus Z170I Pro Gaming motherboard. My build was all going to plan, however I seem to have hit a brick wall. I'm stuck on where the front i/o panel connectors should go. So I need some help.

These are the cables coming from my front i/o panel:

And this is the diagram for the system panel connectors from the motherboards manual:

Now I assume the H.D.D. LED and Power LED connectors just connect to the H.D.D. LED and Power LED connectors on the motherboard? But would it be negative to negative and positive to positive, or negative to positive? What about the Power SW cable? Does that connect to Power BTN or Reset? Also what does the little arrow/triangle on the connectors stand for?

Solution
Positive to positive and negative to negative.

For the power switch I would assume the arrow goes to ground (if the wire is black and the other wire on it is red) otherwise it goes the other way.

The reality is its a momentary switch that just jumps out those 2 pins momentarily to start the computer, it actually doesn't matter what direction you install it.

Thanks Rogue Leader. The arrow on the power switch is on the side where the cable is black and white, whereas the other cable is just black.

Ok. I would put the black cable on the ground side for consistency, but as i said it really doesn't matter.
