I have a ASUS z270-A motherboard and am trying to add an AMD Radeon rx560 graphics card.

So I installed it in the #1 PCIe 16 slot.
Attempted to run the cards installation software, "no card detected"
Looked in device manager and didn't see it, nor were there any conflicts.
The card has 2 fans, neither are turning.

Is this a defective card, or am I missing something ?

All the specs say that it doesn't require a "Being a dual-slot card, the AMD Radeon RX 560 does not require any additional power connector "

There is a 6 pin connector, I tried connecting but still nothing.
(I plugged into the 8 (6+2) on the psu and then the 6 pin into the card.)

I found a write up that stated that if the display port is on, no power will go to the pcie.
I unplugged the monitor from the port and connected it to the radeon card, no change.
I am leary of disabling the onboard graphics as I might notn be able to see anything again.
