Brand new owner of an Asus PRIME Z270-A motherboard-based computer. I have gone into the BIOS and enabled Thunderbolt on USB (presumably from the USB 3.1 Type-C connection. How do I know that it is enabled in Windows 10? I don't see anything referencing Thunderbolt in Device Manager? Likewise, I installed Intel Thunderbolt Software and that doesn't say anything about enabled or disabled. Can someone please confirm? Thank you.

Solution
No, your motherboard does not have any thunderbolt 3 supported on any of the ports. You will require an add in card (ThunderboltEX 3) which will also require plugging into the thunderbolt header on the motherboard in order to utilise Thunderbolt 3.
Having 3.1 type C ports does not mean you have Thunderbolt 3.

Solution
Thnx for confirming. I figured that might be the case. I have it disabled now in my BIOS as I don't intend to install the Asus Thunderbolt card...it looks like it eats up a lot of PCIe bandwidth, and I don't own any Thunderbolt devices. The reason I asked was that my Dell XPS 13 has the type-C connection and advertised support for both USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt.
