Asus Z370E wont detect network card

Brand new build with the asus z370e rog motherboard. The onboard wifi is terrible so I wanted to use my old network card an asus PCE-AC88. I plug it into the pci slot and the board does not even recognize it. Not sure what I am doing wrong I downloaded the drivers for it and everything.

Chapter *3.4.5. Wireless Ethernet Adapters*: ASUS PCE-AC88 is present.
Must work.

Hi, I was wondering if you are still having this issue? I own the same mobo and wifi card and having a much worse issue.

to address your issue:
does it show up in device manager when you select "show hidden devices"?

I can get mine to show up. but its casuing my entire pc to crash. please take a look at my post and see if its similar.
