One and a half month ago I build a new PC using the ASUS Strix Z390-E. Unfortunately, it's been plagued with audio issues which I haven't been able to figure out on my own. When I connect my HyperX Cloud II to the front or back audio port, there are a lot of noticeable cracks and pops while listening to music and watching YouTube. What's even worse is that the audio gets quite bad out of sync with the video. During gaming, I don't really notice this issue. What's weird is that when I plug my headset into my monitor (Acer XF240H) the audio works flawlessly, but the microphone is not being detected. Through the monitor, the NVIDIA HD audio driver is used, while in the front and back audio ports on my PC, Realtek audio drivers are used.

I have tried the following fixes, some of them did resolve the issue momentarily, but they came back after a while. Others didn't change anything:
-Updating audio drivers through ARMOURY CRATE
-Updating audio drivers through the official page on the ASUS website
-Updating drivers through Driver Booster 7
-Updating BIOS

The only other thing I can think of is reinstalling windows and installing all of the latest drivers through the Asus website (I used Driver Booster 7 the first time), would that maybe fix this issue?

Note: I am connecting my HyperX Cloud II with a 4 channel aux splitter because the USB cable that came with it broke after a while. One of the channels was significantly quieter than the other. I tried this headset with splitter on my phone and a different PC and it works perfectly fine.

Specs:
Asus Strix Z390-E
i7 9700k
Asus Strix rtx 2070 super
16gb G.Skill TridentZ 3200MHz
I later added another 16gb 3200MHz kit by Corsair, but I don't think that can be an issue because the system works flawlessly except for the audio issue.
Windows is installed on a 512GB m.2 ssd

Does anyone know what might be the cause of my issues?

Hello.
Well, this is interesting. i have the same set up as you, besides Corsairs RAM and storage and i have the same isues.

The video/audio sync only starts when i leave sleep mode. Disabling sleep mode stopped it, but i don't realy like it.

I have a problem where Realtek just says that it recognizes another jack plug in; cutting off sound and mic, but in software it shows as the sound is passing through. For me this only happened while playing games. For now droped the sound bit rate from 24bit to 16bit and disabled front audio self detect. Uninstalled sonic and the other thing that came with asus realtek update.

Have the latest win10, latest asus z390-e BIOS and the sound driver from asus z390-e support page. Didn't not install anything else, manually, for the motherboard. Did not use the included disc.
