Hi folks,
Working on a new build after ~10 years.
I just got the "ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming Wifi II" Motherboard and a 12900KF (to avoid all the recent intel 13th/14th gen issues).
After reading a lot, I still can't get a clear answer as to whether or not using the CPU lane M.2 slot (M.2_1) will cause splitting of the GPU PCIe5 x16, making it run with x8.
Some places say yes, it will split GPU lanes to x8.
Other places say that because the CPU's PCIe4 x4 m.2 lanes are separate from the GPU PCIe5 x16 there is no "splitting" of the x16 lanes -> This is also aligned with Intel's documentation on CPU lanes for 12th/13th/14th gen [see here for example]
And of course Asus doesn't mention this topic in the manual at all...
Any ideas?
Thanks
