I recently purchased a Z87 Deluxe quad m/b and proceeded to Flashback it to allow my i7-4790 to work in the cpu slot.
With only the Psu 24-pin plug in (tested on another pc and passed the paper clip test) The power/reset and Q code on the m/b lit up.
I downloaded the latest Bios "Z87-DELUXE-QUAD-ASUS-2103.CAP" file and changed the name to "Z87DQ.CAP". However when placing the Formatted Usbfat32 into the designated slot next to the Bios flash button and pressing it. It remained a solid blue, only blinking if held down during the 3-5 seconds to start the flash.
I'm not sure if i did something wrong or if the m/b is defective. But when i placed the other pieces of my build in, the cpu red light remained lit with the Q code "00 00"
Before i return the board to have it changed, is it possible I may have done something incorrectly? I rather not make the two hour trip to and fro the store for a change to only encounter the same issue.
