Asus z87 k no boot to bios

Recently changed mobo and cpu. I5 4460 with a Asus z87 k mobo. 8gb ram single stick installed, no bios detection or display detection. R9 380 as gfx card but tried with on board and also graphics card plugged no dofference. Green light on mobo and you can and case fan and gpu fan spinning. Psu was almost new and ram my old amd fx setup fine, have no idea what the problem can be. Checked all connection, they are in securely and double checked everything is plugged in. Tried clearing cmos with battery pull, still nothing. Any suggestions?

You need a haswell CPU to update the BIOS to support your CPU most likely. I think that's one of the haswell refresh cpus and needs a bios update on any 8* series Board or buy a 9* series board

Bought it off someone else who was running this board and chip. ( saw it running prior to purchase) so I doubt that's the issue

Take it down to only 1 stick of ram, the cpu and CPU cooler and see if it boots

It only has 1 stick of 8gb ram in. Also tried putting a 4gb stick of my other ram from old system in and same problem. Removed gfx and still no boot on the usb peripherals or no signal detected on monitor. Still all fans spinning and green light on too.

Same tho g is happening even when booting with no ram installed. Surely it shpuld not even try to spin up the fans etc with no ram?
