ASUS Z87-PRO fan and temperatures

Hello everybody,

I built a computer with the ASUS Z87-PRO and have two questions about it:

1) In ASUS Suite I can read only the CPU temperature and a generic "motherboard" temperature, is that correct? Can I see the other components temperature?

2) I have two Noctua PWM fans connected with the Y split included to one header, and it seems that if FanXpert shut them off for a short period of time (in Silent mode), it can't turn them on anymore until I shutdown the computer and turn it on again. What should I do?

If you want to see GPU temp then you might want to download one of these, as they display all temps and fan speeds:
CPUID hardware monitor
OpenHardwareMonitor
SpeedFan

I have a 2 non-Noctua fans connected using my Noctua Y splitter and have never experienced your issue. Why are you using FanExpert?

Thank you for your answer. I use FanXpert because I don't know any other fan software, and because I used it with a Gryphon Z87 and it works very well. (and I read all the temperature via the ASUS Suite as well)

In my case if I choose the Silent mode, FanXpert shut the two fans off at 0 RPM. If the temperature rises they continue to be off and they can't be turned on anymore, even if I select the "RPM Mode" and put it at maximum value. The only method I got for keeping them on is setting a customized fan mode with the two fans always on regardless the temperature.

I don't like FanExpert cuz we know the problem is that program. Try others. I listed some software to monitor temps.

I downloaded CPUID Hardware Monitor and I can read every temperature but can't set the fans speed other than the one of the GPU.

I also downloaded SpeeFan and it doesn't detect any fan installed.

Do I have to disable the fan control in the BIOS?

What the heck is going on? SpeedFan doesn't recognize any fans? Ok, try OpenHardwareMonitor....it allows me to control some fans while giving me accurate CPU n GPU readings.

I downloaded OpenHardwareMonitor and like "CPUID Hardware Monitor" it shows me every temperature but it doesn't show me or allow me to edit any fan speed other then the GPU one.

Do these programs and FanXpert interfere with each other? Do I need to uninstall or disable "ASUS Fan Control" service and disable the fan control on the BIOS?

Edit: I disabled the Q-Fan Control from the BIOS on all the fans, but even so "CPUID Hardware Monitor Pro" won't let me se any speed of the fans beside the GPU one. I also updated the BIOS to the last versione available.

In the BIOS I set fan speeds, once the computer boots I have it run quietly. Once I want to game I set my fan speeds in the mobo software. If I need to tweek the speeds I can use OpenHardwareMonitor but I don't have to cuz I never have issues with fans doing what I set them to do. I keep OpenHardwareMonitor open to monitor temps and fan speeds in case I missed something and things are acting up.

Also, I have MSI Afterburner running at Startup. It is GPU software that can be used for any brand of GPU. I have a Sapphire GPU and I like MSI's software cuz it has good controls and monitoring. This is where I have a custom fan profile set for my GPU. So, the fans will adjust based on temps.

Overall, when I want to see a temp or speed...I look at my OpenHardwareMonitor and I'm very happy to see everything is cool. Hope that helps.

EDIT> OpenHardwareMonitor does have "Controls" under the mobo settings. I only have 3 controls displayed but these would allow me to adjust some fans.
