I recently purchased an Asus Z87-Pro (V-Edition) and several other parts to build a new PC.

Among the parts are memory DIMMs G-Skill F3-14900CL9Q-16GBZL which is listed as compatible with the motherboard.

After building the system, the machine apparently doesn't post, and displays a Q-code 55 (Memory not installed).

I've tried reseating the memory several times, and even installed each Dimm alone to see if it was there was a bad module.

Is there something I'm missing? Or is this an more issue with the motherboard or memory (that I should return)?

I did try the sticks individually in the Asus Manual recommended slot earlier, but I thought it would be worth a shot to try again. It gave me the same result (no Post).
I thought I'd try to see if the result would be different if I tried all the other slots. Apparently slots A1 and A2 are faulty, since it was able to get it to Post and get to the Bios screen with the Dimms in either or both B1 or B2.

However, when the BIOS screen came up, it was blank other than the clock and a few blue blocks around a mouse pointer. Moving the mouse across the screen would reveal more of the screen until I could see that it is the UEFI BIOS Utility - EZ Mode... but the underlying settings were not accessible (at least not that I could get to work).
Here are links to three picture of screen (if it helps):

I've not built a machine for nearly 10 years, but I don't believe that is in anyway normal. Is it worth doing a BIOS update to see if it fixes any of these problems? I'm pretty sure I'll want to return the motherboard because the non-functional memory slots anyway, but do you think this could this indicate some other problem (other hardware) as well?

Thanks,
Patrick
