I think what you are talking about is actually cpu boost - where it raises its voltage when a load is put on it and the raised voltage causes it to increase its operational speed.

I changed my question. Sorry, I am a bit confused as I am an AMD owner, and these new technologies never come my way.

They are just referring to the software for bios access for overclocking and monitoring -

I'm trying to decide between these 2 boards: ASRock Extreme 4 and Asus Z97-A.

Most prefer Asus boards to ASRock. I like the ASRock specs and extra features but feel more comfortable with the Asus board. Should I go with the ASRock? Do you know how the fan control is on it? Can it control 3-pin fans?

I feel like flipping a coin. Is there anything on the Asus board that I would be missing out on the Extreme 4?

Either of those is OK. Tom's preferred the ASRock as you can see in their review.
