ASUS Z97-A dram led

So i got a new motherboard and processor and after reinstalling my new Asus Z97-A and my i5 4690k my PC booted up fine but I noticed in my system properties that it was only noticing one of my sticks of ram. Said I only have 4gb instead of 8. So i moved the ram around in the slots and now the dram led light wont turn on and I can get the system to boot no matter what. A couple of my motherboard standoffs weren't in correctly wether they were overtightened or just in a little sideways. Could this be the problem? Ram works fine by the way tested it on my friends computer and tested his ram on mine. The dram led wont turn off. Please Help any suggestion is welcome im getting desperate.

ya I tried that, i dont believe its the rams problem to be honest

Clear the CMOS , and update the BIOS, chipset driver too. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97A/HelpDesk_Download/
